| Text | First Student Body Officers Are Named. Cabrillo college student body will be all ready to function next September when the college opens here. Some 72 prospective students of the college met Tuesday night and elected the first student body officers. Temporary student body officers for Cabrillo college were elected at a meeting Tuesday evening at Watsonviile high school cafeteria. Mike Mason of Santa Cruz was elected president, and Fabby Degli-Esposti, also of Santa Cruz was named vice president. Wanda DeMoss and Elaine Ura, both of Watsonviile, were named secretary and treasurer respectively. Five commissioners also were elected. They are Dorothy Valdivia, Watsonviile, program and rallies; Fredora Holm, Watsonviile, clubs; Philip Kidder, Holy Cross, social affairs; Mike Leach, Watsonviile, athletics, and Carol Tefertiller, Santa Cruz, publicity. Representatives at large are Sara Jane Gann and Philip Reader, Holy Cross; Nina Armstrong and Joan Pope, Watsonviile; Les Wright and Donna Gerdes, San Lorenzo Valley, and Claren Lucini and David Boltshauser, Santa Cruz. 'These officers will serve temporarily to get the student program underway, " said Jack Snyder, activities director. "Elections will be held in September for permanent positions in student government." The student council plans to meet several times before classes open on the Watsonviile high school campus in September. They are studying student programs in effect in 25 California junior col leges, Snyder said. Mrs. F. E. Blaisdell, Cabrillo trustee, was a guest at Tuesday's meeting attended by 72 students from four high schools. |
