| Text | Cabrillo Trustees begin search for college siteThe chances are that when Cabrillo college trustees embark on a bond issue election, a site for the college will have been picked out. This reflects the thinking of trustees, college president Robert Swenson said Friday, despite advice from a state department of education man that it might be better to delay picking the site until after such an election. The expert was Rolf Lee who appeared before the board Wednesday. Swenson said the board generally agrees that it should move ahead to find a site and to prepare careful plans for its development. He said also that trustees plan to develop one campus, not two as hinted earlier. Meanwhile, Cabrillo's future student body met Thursday night, adopted Seahawks as the nickname, picked black and white as school colors and named its newspaper the Log. Eighteen members of the temporary council met at the home of Keith Shaffer, president of the college board, to plan a program for fall. Student body activity cards will cost $5 a semester. |
