TextCabrillo has 589 students registeredA surprising total of 589 full- and part-time students has registered at the new Cabrillo junior college at its temporary campus in Watsonville. Classes will start tomorrow. A school official reported the breakdown at 403 full time and 186 part-time students. A part-time student is one who will take less than ten and one half units of work. Students will continue to register throughout this week. The new college has already hit the enrollment figures of Monterey Peninsula college and Hartnell in Salinas. Cabrillo is taking only freshmen this year. Sophomore students will continue at out-of-county junior colleges. Hartnell reported an enrollment of 958 students, down 67 from last year. MPC had 1056, a decrease which wasn't immediately determined.
